Our stay was good, would recommend this hotel to all. We loved almost every detail: unbeatable location, attentive and amicable staff. The room with a good view. The food was amazing with plenty of options.

The staff were superb, particularly the receptionist and night porter. They went out of their way to make you feel welcome and served up a cooked breakfast at 6.30am so that we could complete a marathon walk which started at 7.30am. The hotel was well decorated too with gorgeous flowers in reception and original paintings in the dining room. The bedroom had all the facilities you'd expect with more tea/coffee on request and pleasant bath/shower gels etc.

The hotel was fantastic, we had a executive double with a balcony overlooking the lake. The room was lovely with an enormous, comfortable bed and nicely furnished. The breakfast was very nice too with a great selection. It was nice and quiet at the weekend but I imagine the building work for the new spa could be noisy, but I guess thats why its a bargain price! There is also a new bar thats just been opened which has glass all around so amazing views of the lake. I would love to have stayed longer.

The coniston is in such a beautiful setting, perfect for dog walks. Our beautiful room was comfy and the breakfast spread was amazing. We also loved the spa treatment. It was relaxing and the views were fine!
the only downside was that the wi-fi connection was a bit tricky.

The location, the views, the relaxed atmoshere and open fires.
The bathroom was sub standard and not 4 star. The bath side panel was loose the tiles were very shabby on the boxing behind the toilet. The shaving mirror was rusty and dirty.

The kids loved the archery lesson, expertly guided, and the views from the infinity pool were fine. The food at the Huntsman restaurant was delicious, ensuring that all our meals felt special for the entire family.
My children wanted a few more activities for younger guests.

from booking in to booking out the staff made us feel welcome they were friendly helpful and very approachable nothing was too much trouble the owners are hands on and involved and shows we even had breakfast served on the last morning by the owners son who is the M.D
the restaurant manager introduced himself and his staff on the first night which we thought was a very nice touch the food was excellent and good value we had fantastic views of the lake and countryside from our bedroom and the patio outside was a great place for morning and afternoon tea the only sad thing was having to leave but i am sure we will be back
